Thread!.Check out the Weekly Recommendation Thread.New Release: The Cat Who Saved Books by Sōsuke Natsukawa.Let me know what else you read of his and what you think of it. I haven't tried Damned or Doomed, and I'm saving Diary for this summer. I couldn't get through Tell All or Pygmy, and I think it's because the experimental styles of each (endless name dropping and allusions/redacted text blackouts) just didn't work for me at the time I tried them. His newest short story collection has some gems, but it gets beyond weird at the end and left a really awful taste in my mouth. Invisible Monsters is pretty good, Rant is great, Lullabye is messy but worth it, Snuff is skippable, Fight Club is overrated but still good, Choke is fun, and Stranger than Fiction is incredible. If you are looking to get deeper into Palahniuk's collection, I have to recommend Survivor. The subplot about progeria was odd, as was the one about the chef and the knives, but it all comes together and sort of works. The Nightmare Box is a wonderful little read, as is Obsolete. I thought some of the short stories were fantastic as standalone pieces and that others wandered too far into shock-territory, even for Palahniuk. I loved parts of it and hated parts of it.
